New Dublin based 'social entertainment' website VenueOne are hosting their first live streaming session tomorrow night. The website's not launched yet so at the moment you watch via Facebook. They aim to stream live gigs every Monday, with DJ sets on Fridays.
This idea of virtual concerts isn't new, MySpace have been doing it for a while with some of the world's biggest bands, YouTube and Vevo are doing it. But MySpace's popularity is on the wane and it has been for a while. Ventures like VenueOne may be set to inherit the discoverer of new music mantle that made MySpace huge and gave bands like Arctic Monkeys their break.
